Jalen Hurts out VS Panthers with Blood Clot

Just when you thought Philadelphia sports couldn’t get any worse, today news was released by Ian Rapoport via X, Jalen Hurts is out for Sunday's game versus the 2-2 Carolina Panthers after doctors discovered movement in a blood clot in Jalen Hurts calf.
After the Eagles’ arrival in London, doctors did an ultrasound of Jalen Hurts calf and discovered a superficial blood clot. It was determined that Hurts would be able to safely participate in football activity, and that game ultimately ended in the heart breaking 19-17 loss for the Eagles.
In a follow up ultrasound Wednesday night, it revealed movement in the clot, and the organization decided to rule Jalen Hurts out for Sunday's game, and the Eagles released a statement which put emphasis on Hurts’ health and safety.
This news strikes at the worst time for the Eagles, especially since roughly 43% of the roster is currently injured. Not only that there is not real timeline for Jalen Hurts return as of this moment. Some medical professionals not within the Eagles organization have reported anywhere from 2-6 weeks out, and some have even predicted Jalen being out for the rest of the season.
With Jalen off the board for Sunday, Tanner McKee is going to start this game and in total he has played in 6 games with 2 starts. In those games he posted a 95.7 passer rating, 61.4% completion percentage, and 597 passing yards.
With most of the team hobbled, injured, or playing with injury it makes you beg the question: Is the Eagles season officially over 6 weeks in? And honestly after the first 5 weeks, a 2-3 record and countless mistakes, how can you think it isn’t?
Coaching staff and head coach Nick Sirianni, have even more pressure now to perform, and if they don’t does this mean Nick Sirianni is legitimately in question for his role with the team? So far, we have gotten stale play calling, coaching mistakes virtually every week so far, and an offense, and defense honestly that has not lived up to the expectations.
The bottom line is that we are in for a world of pain and sorrow here in Philly sports. The only team who can save us seemingly is the Philadelphia 76ers headed by LeBron James.
As for now, let’s hope Jalen Hurts has a speedy recovery.
