The Philadelphia Flyers, who currently sit at 0-4-2 and remain the final team in the Eastern Conference without a victory, will try to surmount their first win of 2026 as they host the first-place 4-1-1 Carolina Hurricanes at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
The two teams have already faced off twice this season. On October 3, the Fliers hosted the Hurricanes and managed to force overtime against the defending Stanley Cup champions. However, the game ended abruptly with a power play goal from veteran former Flyer Shayne Gostisbehere.
The Flyers were outshot 40-18 overall and 30-12 over the first two periods of that contest. Unfortunately, this has been an all too frequent theme for the Flyers, who are still unable to perform the fundamentals with any degree of consistency.
The Fliers' 5-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday afternoon was made worse by injuries, as Cam York, Travis Konecny, and Rasmus Ristolainen were all sidelined.
What's next if the Flyers mange to lose their 7th straight game after after the dumpster fire 3 game road trip??
