Eagles Enter The Week 4 Rams Game Banged Up

Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Eagles are missing several key plates headed into this tough week 4 match up against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Birds have ruled out Devonta Smith, Zack Baun, Dallas Goedert, Marcus Epps, Fred Johnson, and Hollywood Brown. Which obviously leaves the team short on both offense and defense.

DeVonta Smith is the biggest offensive loss for the Eagles, who is rumored to miss multiple weeks with a hamstring injury. And then you take away Dallas Goedert, and Hollywood Brown, which is most likely going to lead to an interesting gameplan for Sean Mannion. It looks like Makai Lemon will be relied on as the number one option at receiver, so we will get to hopefully see more production out of him, rather than screen passes.

And then defensively you take away Zach Baun, who has easily been one of the most game changing players on defense that has not lived up to the hype. Hopefully this opens the door for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. who had an amazing showing in the preseason and training camps. On the bright side defensively, Campbell is expected to play, and Jonathan Greenard is available to play, after returning from injury last week.

Obviously even with those players this Eagles defense is going to be tested against Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ passing attack. Through the three weeks the Birds have played, we have seen this defense struggle to generate pressure and prevent explosive plays.

That makes Sunday a major test of the Eagles’ depth. Philadelphia may not have all of its starters, but the players stepping into bigger roles will have an opportunity to prove this roster can survive injuries and still compete against a dangerous offense

This Eagles team is getting tested early, we need them to show up, specifically Jalen Hurts.
