Flyers looking to get their 3rd straight win! Flyers preview 10/21/26

The Flyers will look to extend their 2-game win streak as they face a Buffalo Sabres team with inconsistent goaltending and lackluster defense so far.
One guy that the Flyers need to key on tonight defensively is Owen Power. The former #1 overall pick is off to the fastest start in his career to date, and he has taken his passing skills to the next level this year in the absence of captain Rasmus Dahlin. Power has tallied 6 assists in his first 9 games and 8 points overall. To counteract Power’s skills, Philly needs quick sticks from the likes of Travis Sanheim and Nick Seeler to get into passing lanes.
The X factor for the Flyers tonight is Matvei Michkov. Michkov leads the squad in points and goals. His 6 goals are by far his best start to a season in his young career, and he is coming off a 2-goal performance against a star-studded Avalanche team. Michkov has reached star status, and if he can continue his tear tonight and on, Philly will have a chance to win every game with his scoring upside.
If the Flyers can make it 3 straight, all 3 of their wins will be against teams that made the NHL playoffs last season.
