The Phillies Could Miss The Playoffs? Postgame 9/25/26

The Rays blanked the Phillies, and if they lose the next two and Arizona wins out, Philly will miss the playoffs.
Tonight was low-scoring as Tampa pulled off a 2-0 victory. Christopher Sanchez had a very solid night, going 7 innings, 5 hits, and two runs. Both runs Sanchez surrendered came early on in the game, with the first coming on a Jonny Deluca RBI single that scored Junior Caminero, and the second run came on a solo home run from Nick Fortes.
Sanchez gave up a single in the third, but from then on, he did not allow another hit.
As for the Phillies offense, this is now their third straight game scoring 1 run or less, raising major concerns. With two games to go, the Phillies are at 87 wins, with Arizona at 85. If Philadelphia’s offense keeps struggling and they drop the next two, they will miss the postseason if the Diamondbacks win out.
They still have 3 games left against the Padres, so statistically Philly is 1.5 games ahead. Even if the Phillies do outlast Arizona, the offensive struggles in recent games, on top of season-long bullpen woes, could keep this team from being a real threat in the playoffs as they have in years past.
Philly will face Griffin Jax in need of a win to try and escape Arizona. They have not announced a starter.
