Awful! 9/19/26 Phillies Postgame Recap

We have reached the point in the season where each game is a must win. With the Cubs and Padres as on fire as they are right now, the Phillies need to win as many games as they possibly can, playing with some kind of guts in order to make the playoffs.

We didn't get that tonight,

Andrew Painter had 2 bad innings.

A solo homer to Benge in the first...

Then a miracle! Life from the Phillies offense!

The Phillies got multi-hit games from Trea Turner, Luis Arraez and Alec Bohm, who has quietly caught fire this year...

Over a 162-game pace since May 9, Bohm's numbers translate to a .280 average, 20 home runs, 57 extra-base hits and 102 RBI.

Then the bullpen happened again... But before we get into that lets go over bullpen ERA in September (more than 1 appearance)

Chase Shugart -- 0.00

Jose Alvarado -- 1.35

Jhoan Duran -- 3.00

Tanner Banks -- 4.50

Tim Mayza -- 4.76

Alex McFarlane -- 6.23

Jonathan Bowlan -- 6.75

Orion Kerkering -- 18.69

Brooks Raley -- 23.63

You would think you wouldnt go to the guys with the highest ERA in the bullpen in a close game? N

Nope!

They did, and it blew up in their face again.

Kerkering allowed four earned runs in the eighth as the game turned into a joke. He has now let uo seven runs in back to back nights and owns a 15.43 ERA over his last seven apperences and a 10.29 ERA over his last 15.

Thats not going to win you a World Series, point blank, period
